My name is Russell Howard and I am the Provincial Grand Master of the Mark Master Masons for Bedfordshire.
Whatever your reason for visiting our website we want it to be interesting and informative and will always try to improve on what you find here.
Alternatively you may just wish to know more about us and we are happy to share our experiences and provide examples of the social functions we organise and our charitable giving. This year we gave over £15K to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital Prostate Scanner Appeal and pride ourselves in being able to support local charities.
Established in 1985 the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Bedfordshire is the governing body of all our Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Lodges within the Province. We are part of the oldest and non-religious fraternal societies.
Our origins are based on the ancient operative stonemason who indented the stones they made with their personal mark. There are three degrees in Craft Freemasonry and the Mark Degree is an important development of the second of those three degrees, not practised in English Craft Freemasonry but still is in Scotland and other parts of the world. You can become a Master of a Lodge of Mark Master Masons before you have reached that position in your Craft Lodge.
Here you will discover we have currently nine Mark Lodges and five Royal Ark Mariner Lodges with the history of both these Orders and how they are operated today.
As a Craft Freemason consider the Mark Master Mason’s Degree as a necessary step of your journey for improving your self-knowledge.
If you wish to join us or require any further information that you cannot find here then please contact the Provincial Grand Secretary who will provide the answer(s) you seek or complete and submit the online form.
Myself and the members of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Bedfordshire look forward to one day meeting you personally.
